I tried to scan the export and handover qr code on my phone but instead of opening the report it just opens the snap medic app on phone

Evening, yes this is a known bug and should be fixed in a week or so. You have two options for now.
1) export as pdf and email
2) copy the generated link and send it (if opened on a phone with snapmedic installed it will still open the app)
It will be fixed
